Deep tissue massage is the slow kind. A therapist works past the surface layer of muscle and into the tissue underneath, then holds pressure there long enough for it to give. It is the right booking when something has been tight for months rather than for a weekend.
This site is run by J Massage SLC. We have done this work at 677 S 200 W Suite #C in downtown Salt Lake City since 2017. Deep tissue is $85 for sixty minutes, $125 for ninety, and $165 for two hours. Those are the real numbers for all three lengths. There is no membership to join, and no introductory rate that quietly changes on your second visit.
We are open every day of the week, 10am to 10pm. That range is not a marketing gesture. It means you can come after a shift, after a day in the canyons, or at nine on a Tuesday night when the tension finally catches up with you. Same-day appointments are often available. The number is (801) 288-1118 and someone answers it.
Every therapist here holds an active Utah massage therapy license issued by the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. All are licensed, insured, and vetted for professional conduct. We employ both male and female therapists, so you can state a preference when you book and we will honor it. We show a 4.4 star rating drawn from 516 Google reviews, half star and all, because a perfect score across five hundred people would not be true.
What deep tissue is good for is tension. The shoulder that has been locked since you changed desks. The lower back that tightens by Wednesday. The calves that never quite came back after ski season. What it is not is medical care. We do not diagnose, we do not treat conditions, and we will not tell you a massage fixes something a doctor should be looking at. If you have a health concern, ask your doctor first and then come see us.
Pressure is a conversation, not a setting. Your therapist will ask what hurts and where, then check in as the work gets deeper. Deep tissue can feel intense in the places that need it most, and that intensity should still be something you can breathe through. If it is not, say so, and the pressure changes. Nothing gets forced.
You can add to a session if you want more from it. Cupping is $20 and lifts fascia with suction instead of pressure. Hot stones are $20 and use heat to get tissue to let go sooner. A thirty minute infrared sauna is $30. CBD worked into the oil is $30. All of them are optional and none of them are upsold at the table.
Two practical notes before you book. Parking is free and it is right at the building, so you are not feeding a downtown meter with one eye on the clock. And card payments carry a $5 processing fee, while cash carries none. We would rather tell you that here than surprise you at checkout.
Call (801) 288-1118 or book online, pick sixty, ninety, or one hundred twenty minutes, and tell us where it hurts.
