Several of those reviews are specifically about deep tissue work, and they are worth reading because of what they tell you about pressure.

The part to notice is the middle clause. She explained her painful points, and the therapist worked from that. That is how a good session starts.

We would gently add that we are not a chiropractic or physical therapy practice, and no therapist here is going to adjust a spine. What Tanner is describing is the difference between comfort work and structural work, and deep tissue is squarely the second one.
